Competition Corvette Club of Michigan at DKIA Developing KIDS International Airport
On February 28, 2026, the Competition Corvette Club of Michigan (CCCOM) had the distinct honor of volunteering at the Developing KIDS “Developing Futures Summit: From Potential to Power.” The event took over 40 inspiring young leaders on a unique journey through DKIA (Developing KIDS International Airport). This creative experience featured three transformative "gates" designed to prepare youth for a bright future:
Gate T1 (Tech Take Off): Equipping students with digital skills to thrive in a global economy.
Gate E2 (Empowerment Station): Building leadership, courage, and a strong, purposeful voice.
Gate H3 (Wellness Runway): Cultivating resilience and balance for the mind and body.
At CCCOM, our commitment to mentorship drives everything we do. We were thrilled to witness these young innovators embrace their potential with such energy and intention.
Supporting these future leaders is not just a responsibility; it is our passion. We left the summit feeling incredibly hopeful, knowing that the next generation is ready to move with clarity, courage, and power
Competition Corvette Club of Michigan Supports the United Way of Genesee County MLK Jr. Day of Service
On January 19, 2021, the Competition Corvette Club of Michigan (CCCOM) proudly joined the United Way of Genesee County for its annual Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service Volunteer Event—marking our second consecutive year of partnership in this impactful community initiative.
Observed each year in honor of Dr. King’s legacy, the Martin Luther King Jr. Day is more than a day off; it is a day on—a call to serve, uplift, and strengthen our communities. CCCOM members answered that call with pride and purpose.
Together with approximately 400 dedicated volunteers—including local community organizations, students, corporate partners, and individual changemakers—CCCOM worked shoulder to shoulder to help prepare an extraordinary 200,000 meals.
These meals were distributed throughout the community to help combat food insecurity and provide relief to families facing hardship.
“We are incredibly proud to have supported this initiative for the second year and to continue building meaningful partnerships that create lasting change” said Duane Green Chair of Communities Outreach for CCCOM. “Events like the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service remind us that even the smallest actions—when multiplied by hundreds of willing hands—can produce powerful results.”
At CCCOM, service is not just something we do; it is who we are. We remain inspired by the spirit of Dr. King and by the strength of communities that come together to ensure no neighbor is left behind.
CCCOM Spreads Holiday Cheer to MCHS Residents
As our final act of community outreach for 2025, the Competition Corvette Club of Michigan (CCCOM) had the privilege of bringing some holiday joy to the residents of MCHS (Michigan Children's Services). MCHS provides crucial temporary housing for young adults and children in our metro Detroit area who are navigating challenging times.
This year, with the generous support of our members, CCCOM was able to donate gifts to 24 young adults and 12 children residing in MCHS housing. Witnessing their faces light up as they received the gifts was truly a heartwarming experience and a blessing for us all.
For CCCOM, this initiative goes far beyond simply giving presents. It's about showing these individuals that our community cares deeply about them and their journey toward building better lives. We want them to know they are not alone and that we believe in their potential.
The holiday season can be especially difficult for those facing hardship, and we hope that these gifts brought a little comfort and lifted their spirits. We are incredibly grateful for the opportunity to support MCHS and its residents, and we look forward to continuing our community outreach efforts in the coming year. Thank you to all the CCCOM members who contributed to making this a successful and meaningful holiday for those in need!
CCCOM Spreads Thanksgiving Cheer to COTS Peggy’s Place
For the fourth year running, Competition Corvette Club of Michigan (CCCOM) continued its tradition of giving back by providing a fully catered Thanksgiving meal to COTS Peggy’s Place in Detroit. It’s an honor for CCCOM to support COTS (Coalition on Temporary Shelter), an organization that provides vital temporary housing and resources to families experiencing displacement. This year, CCCOM brought the warmth and joy of Thanksgiving to over 175 residents at COTS Peggy’s Place. Thanksgiving is about more than just a meal, it’s about hope, community, and knowing someone cares.
CCCOM is committed to offering a hand up, not a handout, to families striving to rebuild their lives. We believe that by providing support and encouragement, we can help individuals and families overcome challenges and achieve lasting stability. CCCOM is proud to partner with COTS in their mission to empower families to achieve self-sufficiency and break the cycle of poverty. We look forward to continuing the meaningful tradition for years to come.
CCCOM Brings Holiday Cheer with Rhonda Walker Foundation
The Competition Corvette Club of Michigan (CCCOM) recently joined the Rhonda Walker Foundation’s (RWF) 23rs Annual Secret Santa Holiday Gift Giving Party, supporting the Detroit Recuse Mission Ministries (DRMM) Genesis House II, a transitional home for women and children. The event highlights CCCOM’s dedication to supporting women and children in need. Genesis house II provides a haven for women overcoming challenges like substance abuse and legal issues while pursing education and training. CCCOM adopted the Johnigan Family, with five children aged newborn to 12.
The children’s excitement as they opened their gift was a heartwarming reminder of the simple joys of the season. CCCOM members were deeply moved by the mothers’ stories of resilience and determination to build better lives for their children. The RWF Secret Santa event provided CCCOM with a meaningful opportunity to connect with the community, spread holiday cheer, and create lasting memories for a family in need. This partnership reflects CCCOM’s commitment to making a positive impact and fostering hope for a brighter future
CCCOM participated in the 99th Annual America’s Thanksgiving Parade
Competition Corvette Club of Michigan (CCCOM) was thrilled to participate in the 99th Annual America’s Thanksgiving Parade in Downtown Detroit on Thanksgiving Day. It was an honor to partner with The Parade Company and serve the community by volunteering as trained float spotters for one of Detroit’s most treasured traditions. Despite the chilly weather, the excitement from the crowd kept our spirits high. From the smoke effects rolling down the streets to the cheers and waves from parade-goers, the energy throughout the day was contagious. Our members proudly supported the event while helping ensure the parade ran smoothly and safely for everyone involved.
Volunteering at this iconic celebration was a rewarding experience and a meaningful way for CCCOM to give back to the community. We were proud to play a small role in welcoming the official start of the holiday season in such a festive and memorable way. Thank you to The Parade Company for the opportunity, and to all our CCCOM volunteers who showed up to represent the club with pride and professionalism!
CCCOM Volunteers Shine at Best Buddies Champion of the Year Gala
The Competition Corvette Club of Michigan (CCCOM) once again partnered with Best Buddies for their annual Champion of the Year Gala on November 14, 2025, lending their support to an organization dedicated to fostering friendships, integrated employment, leadership development, and inclusive living for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). CCCOM volunteers were involved in all aspects of the gala, from setting up the venue to greeting guests and assisting with registration, ensuring a seamless and enjoyable experience for all attendees. As bid spotters, they played a crucial role in the gala's fundraising efforts, contributing to the vital programs and services that Best Buddies provides.
The evening was filled with inspiring stories from the Best Buddies champion nominees, highlighting the profound impact of the organization's work. CCCOM is honored to support Best Buddies and looks forward to continuing its partnership in the years to come.
CCCOM 1st Annual Coats for Kids Giveaway
Competition Corvette Club of Michigan’s (CCCOM) 1st Annual Coats for Kids Giveaway, held on October 11, 2025, was a heartwarming success that truly embodied the spirit of community and compassion. What made this event especially meaningful was its dual-location format, with coat giveaways taking place simultaneously on Detroit’s east and west sides—a first for Detroit. This thoughtful approach ensured that more families could be reached, bridging communities and spreading warmth across the city. Through the generosity of members, partners, and supporters, CCCOM proudly distributed more than 475 new coats to children in need.
Each coat represented more than just protection from the cold—it was a symbol of care, dignity, and hope for the months ahead. The true reward came in the form of smiles and laughter as children eagerly tried on their new coats, many twirling, giggling, and proudly showing them off. In those moments, CCCOM was reminded of the incredible impact that comes from simply showing up for our community. As temperatures drop and winter approaches, CCCOM stands grateful for the opportunity to make a difference. This first annual event is only the beginning of a growing tradition—one that celebrates service, unity, and the belief that together, we can keep our children and communities warm in more ways than one.
CCCOM Brings Corvettes to Downtown Detroit
On Saturday, September 20, 2025, the Competition Corvette Club of Michigan (CCCOM) brought horsepower and community pride to the heart of Detroit with its Corvettes in the Park event. More than 60 stunning Corvettes lined the streets of Paradise Valley, transforming Downtown Detroit into a vibrant showcase of automotive excellence, music, and fellowship.
As one of the largest Corvette displays in Downtown Detroit outside of General Motors events, Corvettes in the Park highlighted not just the passion for America’s sports car, but also the deep community connections that drive CCCOM’s mission. The day’s festivities included great music, food vendors, and lively engagement with residents and Detroit Tigers fans heading to and from the game — a true celebration of the city’s energy and culture.
The event’s soundtrack was powered by Tune-Up Man from 105.9 FM, who kept the crowd
entertained and the atmosphere electric as Corvettes gleamed under the Detroit skyline.
Adding to the excitement, Michigan Representative Haley Stevens (11th Congressional
District) stopped by to meet members and experience firsthand the positive impact CCCOM
continues to make in the community.
Events like Corvettes in the Park showcase how partnerships between local organizations,
businesses, and city leaders can inspire unity and civic pride. CCCOM is proud to represent the
Motor City spirit — where innovation, collaboration, and community come together in full
throttle.

CCCOM Supports Tara’s 5K Run & Walk
Tara’s 5K Run & Walk was the perfect opportunity for the Competition Corvette Club of Michigan (CCCOM) to once again stand alongside Turning Point in their mission to support survivors of domestic violence. This annual community event honors the life of Tara, who tragically lost her life to domestic violence in 2007, while raising awareness and hope for families in need.
More than 400 attendees came together for the walk, creating a powerful show of unity and support. The crowd heard from County Executive Mark Hackel, as well as a courageous survivor who shared her journey of breaking free from 20 years of abuse and building a safer future for herself and her children. Their stories were a powerful reminder of the importance of community, compassion, and advocacy.
CCCOM was proud to contribute with a significant donation to Turning Point, ensuring that the organization can continue providing critical resources to individuals and families on their path to healing and safety. By supporting events like Tara’s Walk, CCCOM reinforces its commitment to making a positive impact in the community. Together, we drive hope forward.

On April 27, 2025, Competition Corvette Club of Michigan (CCCOM) proudly participated in the Best Buddies Michigan Friendship Walk, held at the beautiful Detroit Zoo.
We partnered to supprt ndividuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD).
As an event sponsor, CCCOM partnered with Best Buddies to help raise awareness and support for individuals with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD). Adding to the festivities, several CCCOM members showcased their Corvettes in a special Car Show, drawing smiles and admiration from walkers and visitors alike.
Our members truly enjoyed the opportunity to interact with participants, share our passion for Corvettes, and support Best Buddies’ inspiring mission. Best Buddies International is a nonprofit organization committed to creating opportunities for one-to-one friendships, integrated employment, leadership development, and inclusive living for people with IDD across the globe. CCCOM is honored to stand alongside Best Buddies in promoting inclusion, friendship, and opportunity — and we look forward to driving even greater impact together in the future!

Hosts Superhero-Themed “Light Up the Dark” Family Night in Grayling On September 14, 2024,
the North Central Area Credit Union (NCACU) brought families together for a night of fun, community spirit, and philanthropy at their annual "Superhero Light Up the Dark Family Night" in Grayling, Michigan. The event, held to raise funds for local community organizations, had something for everyone, from action-packed activities to educational safety demonstrations.

The event offered a special treat for car enthusiasts as the Competition Corvette Club of Michigan (CCCOM) proudly displayed our collection of Corvettes. Children had the unique opportunity to sit inside the sleek, powerful cars for photos, creating lasting memories.
